Communication
Communication and dissemination throughout the project
This involves all communication and dissemination throughout the project. It consists of the following phases:
- Communication at recruitment to study subjects (contacts sheets, letters of consent, incentives, web pages…) will clearly specify the goals and the limitations of the study, what is expected from the study subjects, how they can contribute, when and how the results will be communicated and interpreted. It will also indicate possible follow-up.
- Communication of individual results: according to the Privacy Directive every research subject not only has the right to know about all personal data that has been processed about him or her, including individual results of research (EU Directive 95/46/EC, Article 12), but also the right not to know (Article 13 §1 of ref. 95/46/EC, Article 12). This is not yet common practice in several member states as the implementation of the Privacy Directive differs within member states. As this survey is organised by public authorities, a strict implementation of the European Directive is mandatory. Individual results will be communicated as a general rule or on request only, unless specified otherwise in the informed consent.
- Communication of aggregated results will also be provided to general public and policy makers (by the organisation of a national workshop in each participating country) according to the COPHES guidelines and including recommendations for policy measures if relevant.
EXPECTED RESULTS
Communication products related to the different steps of the project will be available in national official languages. Participants will be informed according to their wishes. Stakeholders and Governments will be involved. All the national results and reports will be disseminated through national workshops and transferred to the COPHES team in order to finalise the European analysis which will result from the collaboration of COPHES-DEMOCOPHES.
